Welcome to our course on standards, architectures and communication technologies for ITS and C-ITS. In this course, you’ll learn about different architecture and communication technologies for ITS and C-ITS services, including standards for ITS and C-ITS and the related standardisation organisations. Participants will also learn about interoperability, testing and certification of ITS and C-ITS services. This course is intended for someone who wants to get a general overview of the technical aspects for deploying ITS and C-ITS.
Risto Öörni received his M.Sc. in electrical and communications engineering from Helsinki University of Technology in 2004. Since 2004, he has been working as a research scientist and later as a senior scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. His research interests include analysis of impacts of ITS, in-vehicle emergency call systems and data and service quality in ITS applications.
